spring steel strip (stainless)
For stainless spring steel strip we predominantly stock material-no. 1.4310. You can order this material as strips or sheets.
Our special strength is a distinctive stock of wide strips (mostly with a width of 300 mm) in a variety of thicknesses and tensile strengths. Strips with a thickness of 0,50 mm or higher are also stocked as sheets with a length of 2 m.

| Information |
- to produce slit coils a minimum width/thickness ratio of 3:1 is needed.
- Stainless steel according to EN 10151 has a chrome proportion of at least 16% and a nickel proportion of at least 6%.
- X10CrNi18-8 is an austenitic steel, the tensile strength derives from the cold rolling process.
- this steel is especially suited to produce springs and reaches the highest possible tensile strengths.

| Heat treatment |
- after the forming process of the spring the tensile strength can be increased by heat treatment.
- the heat treatment also smoothes out the tensions of the forming process.
- the DIN recommendation reaches from annealing at 250°C for 24 hours to 450°C for 30 minutes; cooling down by air.
- the maximum possible temperature of usage is between 120°C and 250°C (dependent upon load).
